This white paper, released by the Institute of Hospitality, is an outcome of a Roundtable held at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in October 2025.
The Roundtable was organised by the Institute of Hospitality, the leading professional membership body for hospitality professionals. It was facilitated by Aymen Fetouak (Head of Professional Development, Institute of Hospitality) and hosted in Swansea at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, with local hosts Jacqui Jones and Prof. Gareth Davies.
The event brought together industry and policy experts, hospitality managers, local stakeholders and academics in discussing how AI and digital innovation are reshaping hospitality.
I contributed to the white paper by sharing the emergent findings from my #Reboot study around the following:
- what workers value most when working in hospitality and what makes the sector attractive for them;
- the skills for the future of hospitality work;
- the challenges hospitality workers and employers face when implementing technology;
- how technology does not always simplify tasks and save time;
- the importance of choosing the right tools that are the right fit, support workers and make their work meaningful.
