Reboot – Call for Interview Participants

We need you! Interview participants needed for a study on the use of technologies in hospitality workplaces.

Who is this for?

If you’ve worked in UK hospitality, whether as a manager, HR staff member, supervisor, receptionist, housekeeper, kitchen staff, or bar/waiting staff, we want to hear from you! This study is all about understanding the everyday experiences of hospitality employees across various roles and how technology fits into your work. You don’t need to be a tech expert—what matters is your perspective. Whether it’s booking systems, handheld devices, or any other tools you use, your insights will help us explore how technology shapes the hospitality industry.

What is the purpose of the study?

To understand:

  • How technologies across the sector are transforming hospitality workplaces
  • How these changes are experienced by employees, employers and other stakeholders
  • The implications of these workplace technological changes on their work.

I’m particularly interested in exploring how employers and employees navigate and manage technological change in their everyday working lives.

How can you get involved?

  • You are invited to take part in an interview.
  • This will last approx. 45 mins, and can be in person or online via MS Teams.
  • During the interview, no sensitive information will be asked, all data will be anonymised and you will only be encouraged to share experiences/ideas that feel comfortable talking about.

*Interviews will be conducted between January and May 2025

What are the benefits of taking part?

  • The research will be used to identify benefits and challenges, share good practice examples, provide policy and practice recommendations to help the industry develop sustainable solutions and practices that support workers and employers in times of rapid technology-driven transformations.
  • Information gathered during the interviews will further knowledge on how employers, employees and relevant stakeholders are experiencing these changes.
  • Outputs will include a policy brief for government, a report for hospitality industry stakeholders, and practical toolkits and guidelines for employers and employees.
