Bringing worker voices to life: Recording audio narratives in a studio at the University of Lincoln

Bringing worker voices to life: Recording audio narratives

This was very much a collective effort of co-creation! It wouldn’t be possible without the generosity, enthusiasm, talent and skills of many people:

• Huge thanks to the incredibly talented writer-director Charissa Martinkauppi for joining me on the journey of creating the outputs. Charissa brought the worker stories to life and creatively embedded the themes emerging from the research. She spent time with each voice actor, directing them and helping them powerfully deliver each narrative.

• I’m incredibly grateful to the brilliant Ed Wellman from the Lincoln School of Creative Arts who embraced this creative project with positivity, kindness and made it happen. He tirelessly recorded everything without a break, with great skill and panache. And provided lots of coffee and biscuits to keep us going. Thank you!

• Big thank you to the incredible University of Lincoln students (from Media Production, Sound & Music Production, Music, and Education & Psychology):
Oli Wareham
Alexander Coe
Tom Goddard
MariaChiara Randazzo
Tia Shaw
Elora Brailsford
Francesca Ware
Max Sutcliffe
George Cooke.

Thank you so much for coming on board and giving voice to the characters. It was inspiring to see you at work and witness the talent of our students in action! It was also great to hear that the stories resonated with you!

Once the post-production process is completed, we’ll release the audio narratives. Watch this space.

We cannot wait to share the recordings with everyone! For the moment, here are some photos from the making of.
